Mactan–Cebu International Airport is the 2nd busiest airport in the Philippines. Located in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island, it covers an area of almost 1,000 hectares. It is operated by the GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation, the government-owned airport operator whose focus is to develop and operate Mactan–Cebu International Airport. It is one of the premier international airports in the Philippines that handles both international and domestic flights. The airport serves as a main hub for Cebu Pacific Air. With almost 20 million passengers each year. It is also one of the busiest airports in the country behind the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila.
